Recipe for Disaster

The following is the recipe for a potion that makes the one taking the potion afraid that any conspiracy theories are true. So basically it makes you an idiot.
1 medium-sized yak
1 poisonous mushroom
1 orange hat
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 blond woman
1 beating heart
4 cups of 2% milk
1 cup of orange juice
1 strand of a large dog’s hair
1 small dog
1 adorable little kitten
A dash of basil
A sprinkle of love
Instructions: Boil water in a large cauldron. Take all of the living ingredients and throw them into the large cauldron. After their horrifying screams of agony die down, pour the milk into the cauldron and mix it all up. When you’re done, the mixture should be a beautiful purple color. Chop the beating heart into cubes and mix the cubes into the cauldron. Sprinkle the salt in there next. Treat the orange hat with care as you toss it into the mixture. Dice the poisonous mushroom and sprinkle that into the mixture. Sprinkle the basil in, then the orange juice, then the vinegar. You cannot mess up that order! After all the ingredients are added, let the potion stand for 3 days. After the 3 days, you can then serve it to whomever you please.

My Favorite Candy?!

My favorite Halloween treats are as follows: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (in the shape of a pumpkin or whatever it doesn’t matter), Starburst (who doesn’t love Starburst with Mountain Dew to wash it down?), Snickers (Because I am a major chocoholic), Nerds (I love the fruity tang), Skittles (So fun to put 30 skittles in my mouth and slowly chew them-so tasty!), Now and Laters (I’d rather have them now, thank you very much), M&Ms (Didn’t I say I was a chocoholic?), Crunch (I love chocolate and I love crisp rice), Laffy Taffy (I love how they taste and they come with a joke at the same time!), Icebreakers (Unfortunately I’ve never had anyone give me these, someone should definitely start), Tic Tacs ( I love these more than Icebreakers). What am I saying? I love all candy!

Halloween Poem

Halloween is when children go out in the dead of night
Whenever it is fun to instill people with fright

Whenever girls go out and dress up like little witches
The little boys and girls making lots of candy riches

Whenever vampires can wander, all dressed in black
Around the little children, looking for a snack

And werewolves are abundant, no one gives them a second look
So no one bats an eyes when they snatch people like a crook

And all the spooky poltergeists, flying all about
Infesting people's homes, randomly yelling, "Get out!"

And don't forget the goblins, you might not notice them at first
But if you don't look out for them, that night will be your worst

Stay away from cornfields, they have spooky scarecrows
Don't go near them on Hallow's Eve, this everybody knows

And those bright orange Jack-O-Lanterns may at first seem harmless
But be alone with one and they'll be burying your carcass

So heed these warnings, before going out into the Halloween wind
You might just not live, and give the Jack-O-Lanterns a reason to grin

In Mrs. Fraser's class we took lyrics from 4 different songs and rearranged them to make our own songs. We were allowed to add words or take some out.

Q: When you listen to music, what feelings/emotions does it evoke?

A: It depends on the song playing.

Q: What is your favorite song? Why? Is it connected to a certain time, event, or place?

A: My favorite song...that is a hard question to answer. I don't have an absolute favorite, but one of my favorites is "One Headlight" by The Wallflowers. I don't connect it to anything, but I like Jacob Dylan's use of poetic devices in the song, such as metaphors.

Q: How has your taste in music changed over the years?

A: When I was younger, I used to agree with what the adults around me about what kind of music was good and what was bad. For example, rap was bad and country was good. Pop was bad and country was good. But as I got older, and started forming opinions of my own, and becoming more independent, I started listening to kinds of music my family disliked. Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and any other popular artist.

Q: Do your friends listen to the same styles of music as you? What do you think this means?

A: I have lots of friends, and those friends like different kinds of music. Now, some of these friends like the same kinds of music as me, which I don't really think means anything. It just means that we are either different or alike.

Q: Without music, the world would be like...

A: A world? Without music? I don't want to live in a world like that! That sounds terrible!
